PRODUCTS – COPPER NETWORKS Universal copper wiring: WAN (wide area network) computer networks that cover broad areas are realized with fiber optic cables. LAN (local area network) that cover small physical areas are mainly realized with copper wiring. Communication is the process of transference of information from sender to receiver. Most communication systems cover the distance between computers and include the public telephone system, radio and television. Communication systems have become complex with all the combinations of sound, video and data that are being transferred. For LAN networks we use four twisted pairs of cables which have a better resistance against outside noise because of the closeness of the wires and the canceling out of interference signals. We use these kinds of unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cables us in large quantities in data communication applications. For more demanding projects we use shielded twisted pair copper cables with additional isolation to reduce interference further. In former times the user of information technologies had different cabling for every application in their home (telephone, computer, video surveillance…). Today we build universal cabling systems that solve the former problem of interdependence between application and cabling. Universal cabling is structured in the form of a star and has to meet the requirement of GigaBit Ethernet and 10 GigaBit Ethernet for modern computer networks.
